Asus PadFone Mini turns your smartphone into 7-inch tablet

We wrote about Asus PadFone in the past, but if you want something smaller, Asus has announced minified version of this device.



Just like its bigger brother, Asus PadFone Mini consists of smartphone and tablet dock, and the smartphone comes with 4-inch 800×480 IPS+ LED touchscreen. As for the tablet dock, it comes with 1280 x 800 IPS+ LED touch panel. Regarding the hardware, smartphone comes with 1.6GHz Intel Atom Z2650 processor, 1GB of RAM, and 8GB of storage space, but there's microSD card slot that supports cards up to 64GB capacity. Additional features include 8-megapixel camera with f/2.0 aperture and backside illumination, 2-megapixel front camera and 1170mAh battery. As for the tablet dock, it comes with 2100mAh battery. We have to mention that both smartphone and tablet dock come with non-removable polymer batteries. Asus PadFone Mini comes with dual SIM support, but there's no information regarding the LTE, so you're limited to 4G HSPA+. Regarding the software, this device runs on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean.

If you want to have both tablet and smartphone, Asus PadFone Mini is a perfect solution. Although there's no information regarding the availability, we know that this device will cost $249.

Asus is famous for its tablets, and if you're looking for a Windows 8.1 tablet, you might want to check out this model that comes from Asus.



Asus VivoTab Note 8 is designed for students and enterprise users so it comes with Microsoft Office Home and Student Edition. In addition, this tablet comes with Wacom stylus that you can attach to the bottom of the device in order to carry it wherever you go. Regarding the hardware specs, this Windows 8.1 tablet comes with 8-inch HD 1280×800 IPS display and it's powered by Intel Atom A3470 processor. Asus VivoTab Note 8 comes with 2GB of RAM and up to 64GB of storage space, but if that's not enough for you, there's a microSD card slot for further expansion. Regarding the multimedia, this tablet comes with Asus SonicMaster audio technology.

Asus VivoTab Note 8 sounds promising, but there's no information available regarding release date or pricing.
