Lenovo announces two gaming laptops: Y40 and Y50

When it comes to gaming, some people like to enjoy their favorite games anywhere they go, and if you are a gamer, you might want to have a look at these gaming laptops that come from Lenovo.



Lenovo has added two new laptops to its Y series and both of these laptops come with full HD
1,920×1,080 pixel resolution display, but you can also get an optional Ultra High Definition 3,840×2,160 panel for the Y50 model. Regarding other hardware, customers can choose up to 4th generation Intel Core i7-4702HQ processor. Regarding the memory, both laptops feature up to 16GB of DDR3L-1600MHz RAM, 1TB hybrid SSHD with 8GB SSD. Both models have 720p HD webcam, JBL stereo speakers and subwoofer with Dolby Advanced Audio V2, USB 3.0, USB 2.0, HDMI, card reader,WiFi, Bluetooth and up to five hours of battery life. As for the graphics, you can get up to AMD Radeon M270 2GB graphics for Lenovo Y40, and up to NVIDIA GTX-860 2GB on the Lenovo Y50. Both of these laptops run on Windows 8.1.

Lenovo Y40 and Y50 are decent gaming laptops, and you can get 14-inch or 15.6-inch model for $490-$999 depending of the specs. As for availability, we should see these laptops available for sale later this year.

MIIX 2: Latest laptop/tablet hybrid from Lenovo

One day tablets might actually replace laptops, but if you want best from two worlds, you might want to check out Lenovo's latest hybrid devices.



Lenovo has announced two MIIX 2 hybrid devices, and these devices come with 10.1-inch and 11.6-inch displays, they both support 10 point touch and they both support Full HD 1920×1080 pixel resolutions. The 10-inch model comes with Intel Atom quad-core processor, while the 11.6-inch model comes with up to 4th generation Intel Core i5 1.6GHz processor and up to 8GB of DDR3L RAM. Regarding the storage, 64GB or 128GB of internal storage is available for both models, while the 256GB storage is available only to the 11.6-inch model. Additional features include integrated JBL speakers, 5 megapixel camera on the back and 2 megapixel front camera, microSD card support, microUSB 3.0, microHDMI, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, region dependant LTE/3G and integrated graphics. Regarding the software, Windows 8.1 is available on both devices.

Both of these device can be used in laptop or tablet mode, which can come in handy, and as for the price, the 10-inch MIIX 2 starts at $449 while the 11-inch model starts at $699. Regarding the availability, the 10-inch model will be available in March while the 11-inch model will be available in April.
