Latest from Alcatel: One Touch Idol X Android 4.2 smartphone

As you know, Alcatel has announced One Touch Fire that runs on Firefox Mobile OS, but if that's not your cup of tea, today we have another device from this company.



One Touch Idol X is the latest high-end smartphone from Alcatel, and it comes with 5-inch 1080p edge-to-edge display. Additional hardware specs include quad-core 1.2 GHz CPU, 16GB of internal storage and 13-megapixel camera. Of course, there's a SD slot for expansion and a 2,000 mAh battery as well. We should also mention that Alcatel One Touch Idol X is a rather thin device, and it measures only 7.1mm in thickness. You should also know that this smartphone will be available in several colors, but sadly, there won't be LTE support. As for the software, Alcatel One Touch Idol X should run on Android 4.2.

Alcatel One Touch Idol X sounds great, and as for the availability, we should see this device someday in July, but the exact release date and price remain a mystery.

IRiver WOWTab: 7-inch Android 4.1 Jelly Bean tablet

IRiver is well-known for its multimedia devices, but now it seems that this company has released its new tablet in South Korea, so let’s have a closer look at it.



WOWTab is a 7-inch IPS 1280 x 800 pixel tablet, and it comes with quad-core 1.2 GHz Nvidia Tegra 3 processor, 1GB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory. Additional features include Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, 2MP front-facing camera and a 4,000 mAh battery. If you take a close look, you might say that WOWTab looks like Nexus 7, but unlike Nexus 7, this tablet comes with microSD card slot for expansion. Regarding the software, IRiver WOWTab runs on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system.

Judging by the hardware specs and look of WOWTab, it really looks like Nexus 7, with the addition of microSD card slot. As for the price, this tablet is available in South Korea for $250, and so far, there's no information regarding the worldwide availability.
