Toshiba REGZA AT501 Android 4.1 tablet

There's no need to mention how popular devices from Toshiba are, and if you're a fan of Toshiba's devices, you'll be pleased to hear that Toshiba has announced a new tablet.



Toshiba REGZA AT501 comes with 10.1-inch 1280×800 display, 1.3GHz quad-core Tegra 3 processor and 1GB of RAM. In addition, this tablet comes with 3-megapixel rear camera, and a battery that can last up to 10 hours. We should also mention that Toshiba REGZA AT501 is compatible with REGZA TVs, and it can work as their companion, similar to Wii U and its controller. Regarding the software, this tablet comes with Android 4.1, and it weighs about 625 grams.

Toshiba REGZA AT501 has decent hardware specs, and it will be great for you, especially if you own REGZA TV as well. As for availability, this tablet is currently available only in Japan and there's no information about worldwide availability so far. As for the price, Toshiba REGZA AT501 is priced at $425.

Leaked: Samsung Galaxy Altius smartwatch

Smartwatches are getting quite popular, and if you need one, you might like Neptune Pine Smart Watch that we covered yesterday, and speaking of smartwatches, rumor has it that Samsung is working on its own smartwatch.



According to the leaked pictures form a Korean message board, it seems that Samsung is working on a newest member of the Galaxy family called Galaxy Altius. This device should come with data plan and internal memory, and it runs on a operating system called AltiusOS Beta2. In addition, this device uses 500 x 500 pixel resolution and it comes with a touchscreen. As for the AltiusOS Beta2, it resembles a Metro UI just a bit, and it seems to have audio player support as well as email client.

We have to admit that Galaxy Altius sounds interesting, but so far, only leaked information is available, and there has been no official response from Samsung regarding this device.

Sony XPERIA ZL coming to Europe

We saw all sorts of great devices from Sony in the past, and speaking of Sony, it's seems that this company plans to bring another of its smartphones to Europe.



Sony XPERIA ZL is a 5-inch Android phone, and it comes with 1080p display (443 pixels per inch), and what makes this smartphone special is its Sony BRAVIA video processor that does image filtering and color corrections. In addition, Sony has decided to fight back against the glare, so this phone comes with no air gap. Sony XPERIA ZL uses 13 Megapixel back camera with full HDR video recording, along with Sony EXMOR RS sensor that is currently one of the best sensors on the market. We also have to mention that Sony XPERIA ZL might not be slim as XPERIA Z, but it makes up for it with its built quality that seems resistant to scratches with its rugged back side.

Sony XPERIA ZL sounds great, however, information about pricing and European release remain a mystery.

One Touch Star: Latest Android smartphone from Alcatel

Back in the day, Alcatel was famous for its mobile devices, and it seems that Alcatel is preparing for a comeback with its latest Android smartphone.



If you're looking for a mid-range smartphone, Alcatel One Touch Star might be perfect device for you. This smartphone comes with 4-inch 480×800 touchscreen display, 5-megapixel back camera with LED flash, and front-facing VGA camera for video calls. As for the other hardware, Alcatel One Touch Star is powered by dual-core 1GHz processor, 512MB RAM, and it comes with 4GB of built-in storage, but there's also a microSD card slot for expansion. Regarding the software, we assume Alcatel One Touch Star will run on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean as the operating system.

Alcatel One Touch Star is a decent mid-range smartphone, and although there's not much information regarding this phone, it is expected to cost about $315 as an unlocked device in Sweden, while the release date remains undisclosed.
