RunCore Xapear SSD protects your file using RFID keys and deletes your files via SMS

Posted: 25 Jun 2012 05:37 AM PDT

If you want to keep your personal data safe, RunCore InVincible Solid State Drive that we covered could be a good solution, however, if you want something different, today we have another SSD from RunCore that we want to show you.

Xapear SSD comes with 8GB, 16GB, 32GB, 64GB and 128GB capacity, and it uses USB interface, but what makes it different from other SSDs is the fact that it uses RFID protection. You can set public and private partitions on Xapear SSD, and while everyone can access public partitions, only people with RFID keys can access private partitions. In order to show private partitions, you just have to swipe your key over the Xapear SSD and it will reveal your partitions, and when you want to hide them, you just need to swipe over your SSD again. If RFID protection isn't enough for you, you should know that Xapear SSD comes with integrated SIM card that lets you delete your data via SMS.

Xapear SSD will be great for you, especially if you want to keep your files safe from unauthorized access, but sadly, there's no information regarding availability or pricing.

Cipher: Credit card shaped stylus for your touchscreen devices

Posted: 25 Jun 2012 03:02 AM PDT

We've covered all sorts of styluses in the past, and if you're looking for a stylus for your touchscreen device, today we might have the perfect stylus for you.

Problem with most styluses is that you have to have a special slot on your smartphone or tablet if you want to carry it with you at all times, since keeping your stylus pen in your pocket or in your bag isn't always the best solution. Today's stylus comes from Quirky and it is called the Cipher, and unlike other styluses on the market, Cipher doesn't look like a pen, instead, it looks like a credit card. Due to its design, you might have to carry your Cipher stylus in your pocket or in your wallet, but since it is made from capacitive materials, it should work nicely with all touchscreen devices. We should mention that it might take you a while to adjust to Cipher's design, since it's not shaped like ordinary styluses.

So far, Cipher isn't available for sale, but according to the reports, the expected price is $4 for a two-pack.

Aperture Science gas mask for Portal fans

Posted: 24 Jun 2012 10:14 AM PDT

We have seen all sorts of items inspired by video games, and if you're a fan of video games, or gamer yourself, today we have something special for you.

We know that Portal games have achieved tremendous popularity, and if you're a fan of those games, today we have a special gas mask for you. Aperture Science gas mask is designed by design studio called Two Horns United, and this gas mask looks like it came right from a Portal video game. Although we don't know how does this gas mask work, it definitely looks like Aperture Science Portable Quantum Tunneling Device. The gas mask itself comes with blue light that will light up when you use it, and it will look rather appealing to both fans of the Portal series and to casual gamers as well.

Aperture Science gas mask looks amazing, and it's a must have if you're fan of Portal games, but we doubt that we'll see it available for sale.
