Amazon Fire TV is now available in US

When it comes to streaming multimedia, set top box is all that you need, and if you're looking for a set top box, you'll should have a look at Amazon's latest device.



Amazon Fire TV allows you to stream content from Amazon Prime and other similar services such as Hulu Plus and Netflix right to your TV. In terms of hardware, this device is powered by quad-core processor that is three times more powerful than the one on Apple TV, Google Chromecast and Roku 3. There's also Adreno 320 graphics, 2GB of RAM, dual band WiFi, 7.1 Dolby Digital Plus surround sound and the ability to stream Full HD content in 1080p. Amazon Fire TV comes with a feature called Advanced Steaming And Prediction that allows you to stream content automatically without buffering. This function can learn your viewing habits and predict shows and movies that you want to watch and prepare them for playback. This device also supports video games, and Amazon is also releasing a game controller for it. As for the number of supported titles, Amazon has teamed up with Disney, EA, Gameloft, Ubisoft, Mojang and other developers, so we expect to see large number of compatible games.

Amazon Fire TV sounds great, and it's now available in the US for $99. We have to mention that with each purchase you'll get 30-day subscription to Amazon Prime and Netflix.

Sony CP-W5: Portable battery with wireless charging support

Wireless chargers are great, but in order to work they require that you connect them to a power source, but if you want a true wireless charging experience you might want to have a look at this device.



Sony CP-W5 is a portable wireless charger that is designed to work with Qi-compatible devices. This wireless charger comes with 5,000mAh battery which means that you can recharge your phone or tablet while being on the move. If you decide to connect this device to a power source you can recharge your battery and any compatible device at the same time. Of course, if you're not a fan of wireless charging you can always charge your device using a microUSB. We have to mention that output differs when charging with a cable, and you'll get 1.0A when charging wirelessly and 1.5A when using cable. In addition, Sony claims that this charger will use Hybrid-Gel Technology that will allow the battery to retain more than 90% of its capacity even after 1,000 charges.

Sony CP-W5 wireless charger sounds great, but we have no information about its price. As for the availability, we should see this device available soon.

iMacompanion adds a USB port to the front of your iMac

If you are an iMac user then you know how hard it can be to reach the USB port on the back, but luckily for you, today we have a little device that brings you one USB port to the front of your iMac.



iMacompanion is a small device that brings the USB port to the front of your iMac, so you can easily connect all sorts of USB devices to it. This device is made from sandblasted anodized aluminum, it looks quite sleek and it will blend in with the design of your iMac perfectly. iMacompanion comes with a thin cable that goes under the base of the computer, and the only drawback is that this device supports only USB 2.0 speeds.

iMacompanion looks great and it can be quite useful, especially if you need one USB port on front side. As for the price and availability, this device is just a Kickstarter project for now, but it has passed its goal, so we'll probably see it available soon.
