Sony PlayStation 4 controller will be compatible with PC

Posted: 07 Oct 2013 05:56 AM PDT

Sony PlayStation 4 will be available soon, and speaking of which, today we have some news regarding the PlayStation 4 controller.

According to the reports, new PlayStation 4 controller will be compatible with your PC for "basic functions". This information has been officially confirmed by president of worldwide studios at Sony Computer Entertainment, Shuhei Yoshida, on his twitter account. According to the tweet, analog sticks and buttons should work fine, and the controller itself will have compatibility for basic functions right out of the box. This is great news, especially if you're planning to buy PlayStation 4, and you would like to play PC games with it as well. On the other hand, we have no information what are those supported "basic functions", so we don't know how many PC games will work with PlayStation 4 controller.

Using your PlayStation 4 controller on both PC and PlayStation 4 sounds great, but sadly, we don't have much information about it, and hopefully, everything will be revealed in due time.
