Toshiba announces three new Android 4.2 tablets: Excite Pure, Excite Pro and Excite Write Posted: 21 Jul 2013 10:05 PM PDT Toshiba has been busy and it has announced three new members of the Excite tablet family, so without further ado, let's see what these tablets offer. Excite Pure, Excite Pro and Excite Write are 10-inch tablets, and all these models come with Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, micro-HDMI, micro-USB and micro-SD ports. Excite Pure is powered by Tegra 3 processor, and it uses 1280 x 800 resolution, 16GB of storage and front-facing 1.2MP camera. Excite Pro uses Tegra 4 CPU, and it uses 2560 x 1600 display resolution with 300 ppi. Additional specs include 8MP rear-facing camera, 1.2MP front-facing camera and harman / kardon speakers. Excite Write is similar to the Excite Pure, but it comes with digitizer pen, so you can take notes. The pen itself is capable of 1024 different pressure points, and it lets you change pen point using the buttons on the pen. We also have to mention that Excite Write comes with ThinkOffice, so you can work on your Word documents on the go. We also have to mention that Toshiba has released an optional Bluetooth keyboard case, but the pricing of this keyboard case remains a mystery. Excite Pure, Excite Pro and Excite Write sound like great devices, and they are available for $299, $499 and $599.99, respectively. [via Ubergizmo] |
SleeKeys: QWERTY physical keyboard for your smartphone Posted: 21 Jul 2013 10:00 PM PDT Onscreen keyboard might be hard to use for some people, and if you're missing regular keyboard on your phone, today we have something that will bring back physical keyboard to your smartphone. SleeKeys is a little device designed to work with Apple iPhone 5 and Samsung Galaxy series, and unlike Bluetooth keyboards, this one attaches to your smartphone, and it doesn't drain your battery, since it doesn't use Bluetooth to connect with your smartphone. Unlike with regular keyboard, you can use SleeKeys with one hand, and flip it back once you're done with it. As for the thickness, this keyboard is 1/8 inch thin, so it won't add too much bulk to your device. SleeKeys is one interesting QWERTY keyboard, and if you're not the fan of onscreen keyboard, or if you want to type texts on iPhone 5 or Samsung Galaxy with one hand, you might be interested in SleeKeys. As far as we know, SleeKeys is trying to collect money for its development. [via Ubergizmo] |
