Posted: 15 Jul 2013 10:00 PM PDT

Swimming is fun, but it can be also quite dangerous, and if you enjoy swimming, but you're concerned about your safety, or safety of others, today's device might be able to prevent drowning and save someone's life.

SEAL wearable swim monitor is a plastic necklace, and it will alert anyone who uses the connected base station if the person wearing the SEAL wearable swim monitor is in danger of drowning. This means that parent or a lifeguard could be easily alerted if the specific person is in danger. We have to point out that the device can be configured based on wearer's swimming experience, so you can set it to work on non-swimmer level, thus alerting you if the device touches the water, or you can set it to professional level.

SEAL wearable swim monitor sounds interesting, and currently this device is collecting funds on Indiegogo, and if it gathers enough money by January 2014, we should see it available for $149.
