Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3 and Mega 5.8 officially announced

Recently we wrote about leaked Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3 hardware specs, and now, we're happy to inform you that Samsung has announced its Galaxy Mega line.



Samsung Galaxy Mega comprises two models: Mega 6.3 and Mega 5.8. Galaxy Mega 6.3 comes with dual-core 1.7GHz processor and 1.5GB of RAM, and its touchscreen display probably uses 1280×720 resolution. This device comes with 8 Megapixel main camera and a 1.9 Megapixel camera on the front for video calls.

Mega 6.3 comes with 8GB or 16GB of internal storage, and it supports microSD cards up to 64GB. As for the battery, this device comes with 3200mAh battery. Galaxy Mega 6.3 supports HSPA+ and LTE mobile networks, and there should also be a Dual SIM version available. As for Mega 5.8, it comes with 5.8-inch display, and it uses qHD 960×540 resolution. This model uses the same dual cameras as the Mega 6.3, but it doesn't have LTE 4G support and it's available only in 8GB capacity.

As for the battery, Mega 5.8 uses 2600mAh capacity battery. Both models run on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, and both of them use unique Samsung features such as Air View, Multi Window and Pop Up Play. In addition, there are S Memo, S Planner, S Translator, S Voice, Story Album, ChatOn messaging app and WatchOn app that turns the device into a remote control. Both models have support for Bluetooth 4.0, GPS/GLONASS and WiFi 802.11b/g/n with WiFi Direct connectivity.

Samsung Galaxy Mega line sounds impressive, and we should see these phones available globally in May, however, the price remains a mystery.

Leaked: Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 hardware specs

Recently we have covered leaked information regarding the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3, and now we have some new rumors related to the Samsung's upcoming tablet.



This rumor comes from Techblog, and according to it, it seems that Galaxy Tab 3 10.1 and 8.0 will both run on Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean operating system. In addition, both models will use 1280 x 800 resolution, 1.5GHz dual-core processor, 3MP rear-facing camera, 1.3MP front-facing camera for video calls and microSD card slot for expansion. Only difference between the two is that Galaxy Tab 3 10.1 will measure 256.7mm x 175.3mm x 8.7mm, weigh 533 grams, and use 7,000 mAh battery, while the 8.0 model will measure 209.6mm x 112.1mm x 6.95mm, weigh 330 grams and use a 4,500 mAh battery.

As for availability, the 3G versions should start selling in May, while the LTE editions will be available in June or July. Although these are just rumors, we're expecting to see official announcement this week.

Analogue CMVS Slim: Neo Geo in new casing

Neo Geo was quite popular in the past, and if you're a fan of this console, today we have a special treat for you.



If you're fan of Neo Geo, and you're feeling bit nostalgic, you should know that Analogue Interactive, a company famous for its visually stunning Neo Geo hardware mods, has introduced a new model. CMVS Slim comes with a wooden case, and there are two models available: one made from domestic wood, and another one called Black Label that is made from exotic wood. Both models come with Analogue CMVS Slim, and couple of analog arcade sticks along with the necessary cables. As you can see, you'll get all the components, and you just need Neo Geo games, and you're good to go. As you can see Analogue CMVS Slim doesn't offer anything new, it's just good old Neo Geo console in a new, and expensive, wooden casing.

Analogue CMVS Slim looks amazing, but such luxury comes with a price. Regular model, made from domestic wood starts at $1,300, and we can only guess how much does the model made from exotic wood costs.

From Cricket Wireless: Engage LT, affordable Android 4.0 smartphone

Being on tight budget while buying a smartphone isn't easy, but if you can't afford any of the advanced models, you might be interested in a mid-range Android smartphone that comes from Cricket Wireless.



Engage LT is a 4-inch WVGA touchscreen device, and it comes 3.2 Megapixel back camera with flash, and a VGA front-facing camera with a built-in flash for video calls. This phone can record 480p video, and it supports Cricket's Muve Music service that allows you to stream and discover new music. As for the hardware, this device comes with Qualcomm 1GHz processor and 1GB of RAM, which should be enough for most apps. Additional specs include 3G data speed and built-in Bluetooth, and regarding the software, this device runs on Android 4.0.

As you can see, Engage LT is a mid-range Android 4.0 smartphone, but it offers decent hardware specs, and if you're interested, you can get it for $199.
