Popinator: Voice activated popcorn cannon that launches popcorn to your mouth

Posted: 04 Oct 2012 04:26 AM PDT

Popcorns are a must, especially if you're watching a movie or your favorite show, and today we have a device that might change the way how you eat popcorn.

Popcorn Indiana has designed Popinator, a popcorn cannon that changes the way how you eat popcorn, since it works like a popcorn cannon. You heard it right; no more will you have to use your hands to eat popcorn, since Popinator can fire a single kernel right into your mouth. This device uses voice recognition thanks to the binaural microphones, and all you have to do is to say the word "Pop", and the Popinator will fire a popcorn straight to your mouth. We have to mention that Popinator can determine your position just by your voice, and although it will aim at your location, it might not be 100% accurate at all times.

Popinator sounds like an interesting device, especially if you're too lazy to use your hand while eating popcorn, but sadly, there's no information regarding price or availability.

Remotely controlled Multicolor LIFX LED light bulb

Posted: 03 Oct 2012 09:28 AM PDT

We know that LED bulbs are more energy efficient, however, if you're tired from regular LED bulbs and you find them plain and boring, today we have a special LED bulb that you might find interesting.

Multicolor LIFX LED light bulb comes from San Francisco-based LIFX Labs, and it changes the way how LED bulbs work. Unlike regular bulbs, this one can change its color, and it can be remotely controlled via your smartphone. After downloading dedicated app for iPhone or Android device, you can control LIFX LED light bulb via WiFi. After you pair up your smartphone with any LIFX LED light bulb, that bulb will work as a "master bulb" and it will transfer your commands to other LIFX LED light bulbs that you have.

Simply by using the app you can change the color of the bulb or the light intensity, and you can even set bulbs to change color and light intensity at specific time, or make them flash as alert if you get an email for example, or make them change color to the beat of music. This LED bulb is using RGB phosphorous COB LED lamp and it has light output similar to 60-watt incandescent bulb or a 50-watt halogen. In addition, if your phone doesn't work, you can also switch the light on or off using a regular wall switch.

LIFX LED light bulb has reached its funding on Kickstarter, and we should see it available in March next year.
