Cricket Kyocera Hydro Plus: Affordable and water-resistant Android smartphone

Smartphones are great but fragile devices, and if you're looking for a smartphone with hard exterior you might want to check out this device.



Kyocera Hydro Plus comes from Cricket and this phone comes with rugged IP57 case which means that this device can be immersed in water that is one meter deep and stay immersed for up to half an hour. Regarding the specs, this device comes with somewhat humble specs, so we got 3.5-inch 320×480 resolution IPS touchscreen display and 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8655 processor. In terms of memory, there's 512MB RAM, 2GB of internal storage space and a microSD card slot for expansion. Additional specs include 3.2MP camera with LED flash, Bluetooth, WiFi and 3G support.

As we said earlier, Kyocera Hydro Plus is a humble device with not so impressive specs, but it makes up for it with its water resistance. As for the price, you can get this smartphone unlocked for $139.99.

Xiaomi Hongmi 1S is officially launched

We cover all sorts of mobile devices from famous manufacturers, but today we want to show you a device that comes from not so big manufacturer.



Xiaomi is well-known Chinese manufacturer, and this company has just added a new member to its Hongmi line. Hongmi 1S comes with 4.7-inch 1280×720 HD display with 312PPI pixel density and Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 CPU that is clocked at 1.6GHz. In terms of memory, this device comes with 1GB of RAM, and there's 16GB of onboard storage space, but if 16GB is not enough, you can expand it with a microSD card as well. Xiaomi Hongmi 1S works with CDMA and GSM networks, and it also has dual-SIM support. Additional features include 8-megapixel rear camera with f/2.2 aperture and LED flash, 1.6-megapixel front-facing camera for video calls, and Android 4.3 Jelly Bean with Xiaomi's MIUI V5 interface.

Xiaomi Hongmi 1S sounds like a decent device, and it's already available in China with a price set at $130. So far, there's no information regarding worldwide availability.
