Rumor: YouTube will introduce paid subscription channels?

There have been a lot of rumors and speculations regarding paid YouTube subscriptions, and now, we have some new rumors related to it.



Google spokesperson mentioned in an interview that they are considering paid subscriptions for YouTube from which content creators on YouTube could benefit from, and now, according to the Financial Times' report, it seems that YouTube paid subscription service could be launched as early as this week. According to this report, about 50 YouTube channels are expected to use this new subscription service at launch, but our guess is that number of paid channel will increase over time. As for the price, the subscription fee starts at $1.99 per month. As for Google, they already confirmed that they are looking into the paid subscription service, so we're guessing it's only the matter of time when we'll see those paid channels.

YouTube paid channels will be beneficial to the YouTube content creators, but the question remains how many average users are willing to pay a monthly fee to watch their favorite channels.

Leaked: New Xbox won’t need always-on internet connection

We already heard rumors that new Xbox 720 will require always on internet connection for playing games, but now we have a leaked email that claims otherwise.



This email was sent to full-time Microsoft employees that are working on the new Xbox console, and this email states that there are number of scenarios in which users expect their console to work without internet connection. This means that new Xbox might not require internet connection to play single player game, or to play a Blu-ray disc or watch live TV. Bear in mind that this is just leaked information, and that there's no official response from Microsoft regarding this information. Email also reveals information that confirms you can hook up new Xbox with cable boxes for watching live TV.

This leaked information reveals a lot of interesting features, and as for announcement, Microsoft will announce new Xbox on May 21st, and we should see a full unveil at this year's E3 conference in June.
