New Android 4.2 tablets from Vodafone: Smart Tab III 10 and Smart Tab III 7

You might remember Vodafone Smart Tab II tablets that were introduced in 2012, and if you're a fan of Vodafone's devices, you'll be pleased to hear that Vodafone plans to continue Vodafone Smart Tab line, and they are already working on two new models.



Vodafone Smart Tab III tablets will be produced by Lenovo, and as far as we know, there will be two models available. Smart Tab III 10 comes with 10-inch IPS display with 1280 x 800 pixels resolution, and it will use 1GHz MediaTek processor, although the number of CPU cores remains unknown. Additional features include 3G and Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity. On the other hand, Smart Tab III 7 will use same hardware, and only difference is that Smart Tab III 7 will use 7-inch display. Regarding the hardware, both models will use Android 4.2 Jelly Bean right out of the box.

Vodafone Smart Tab III tablets sound like interesting devices, but we have no information regarding the availability or price.

Xplore is maker of rugged tablets, and this company has announced their first rugged Android tablet, so let's have a closer look at it.



RangerX is a 10-inch rugged tablet, and it comes with IP65 rating for water and dust resistance, and MIL-STD 810G rating, so it can work in harsh conditions. Regarding the hardware, this device is powered by unnamed dual-core Cortex A9 processor, and it runs Android 4.0.4 operating system. RangerX uses 10.1-inch IPS multitouch display and 1366×768 resolution, it has 5 Megapixel camera on the back and a 1.2 Megapixel front-facing camera for video calls. Additional features include GPS, Bluetooth 4.0, WiFi 802.11n, RFID and NFC. Regarding the optional features, there's Gigabit Ethernet and HDMI-In connections as well as common access card (CAC).

If you’re looking for durable Android device, Xplore's RangerX is a decent rugged tablet, and as for the price, this device is priced at $1349.
