Kinect no longer required for Xbox One to run

Posted: 15 Aug 2013 07:39 AM PDT

There has been a lot of controversy related to Xbox One, and Microsoft has decided to address some issues about Kinect and Xbox One.

As you probably know, it has been said that Kinect is required if you want your Xbox One to function properly, and many gamers found this unsettling, because it allows Microsoft to technically spy on them. Microsoft has addressed this issue, and according to them, Kinect is no longer required, so you can play games on Xbox One even if your Kinect isn't plugged in. Bear in mind that some features and games might not work if your Kinect isn't plugged in.

If you're concerned that Microsoft could be spying on you using Kinect, you can finally rest and play your favorite games without Kinect, since it's no longer required. However, Kinect will still be sold in a bundle with Xbox One, and if you unplug it, you won't be able to play some Kinect games and use some of its features.
