Huawei Ascend Mate: 6.1-inch Android 4.1 smartphone from Huawei

We saw all sorts of smartphones from Chinese manufacturer Huawei, and speaking of which, Huawei has announced a new smartphone, so let's have a closer look at it.



Huawei Ascend Mate comes with 6.1-inch 1280×720 HD IPS+ LCD touchscreen along with Magic Touch that gives you better responsiveness, and it even lets you use the touchscreen while wearing gloves. This smartphone comes with 8 Megapixel main camera with HDR and Full HD video recording, and there's also a 1 Megapixel front-facing camera used for video calls. Speaking of calls, Huawei Ascend Mate uses a dual-mic noise reduction technology that allows you to have clear voice calls, and Dolby sound system is here to provide you with enhanced sound quality. This smartphone is powered by Huawei's own Hi-Silicon quad-core 1.5GHz processor and it runs on Android 4.1 with a custom Emotion UI. Ascend Mate uses 4050mAh battery along with Huawei's Quick Power Control (QPC) and Automated Discontinuous Reception (ADRX) power-saving technology that will extend your battery life. According to Huawei, the battery can provide you with two days of battery life on a single charge, and thanks to the fast battery charging capability, it reduces the charging time up to 30%.

Huawei Ascend Mate should become available in China in February 2013, but so far, the price remains a mystery.

If you're a fan of Sony and its smartphones, you'll be pleased to hear that Sony has unveiled new Android smartphone at CES 2013, so let's have a closer look at it.


Sony Xperia Z combines stylish and unique design with latest hardware such as 5-inch Full HD 1080p 443ppi Reality Display powered by Mobile BRAVIA Engine 2 technology that ensures brightness and clarity.

There's also a 1.5GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor, Adreno 320 graphics, and 2GB of RAM. Sony Xperia Z comes with 13 Megapixel back camera and 2 Megapixel front-facing camera with Exmor R for clear and sharp video calls. You should also know that both of these cameras support Full HD 1080p video recording. This phone also comes with Bluetooth, WiFi connectivity and NFC support, so you can easily share files with other Sony's NFC devices.

We also have to mention that this phone comes with durable, tempered glass and anti-shatter film on the front and back, along with IP55/57 dust and water resistance, so it's rather durable.

 

Sony Xperia Z comes with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, but sadly, we have no information regarding pricing or availability.

USB flash drives are always useful, and speaking of which, Kingston decided to expand its DataTraveler line with a new model, so let's have a closer look at it.



HyperX Predator 3.0 is an USB 3.0 flash drive and it comes with 1TB of storage space, and according to the reports, this USB flash drive is the fastest USB 3.0 Flash drive from Kingston. Speaking of transfer speed, this flash drive comes with 240MB/s read and 160MB/s write speed, and zinc alloy metal casing is here to provide you with shock resistance, and it even comes with a HyperX valet keychain, so you can carry your USB flash drive with you at all times.

In addition to 1TB model, there's a model with 512GB capacity, and both of these models are compatible with Windows XP/Vista/7/8, Mac OS X and Linux operating systems, and backwards compatible with USB 2.0.

Kingston HyperX Predator 3.0 was announced at CES 2013, and so far, there's no information regarding the pricing or availability.
