Brookstone Scanner Mouse: Combines mouse and scanner into a single device

We saw all sorts of multifunctional devices in the past, and today we have a computer mouse that also works as a scanner.



Brookstone Scanner Mouse works as a regular computer mouse, but at the same time, this mouse can work as a ultraportable scanner. As for the scanning, you just need to hold the Smart Scan button on the left side of the mouse, and move your mouse over a document to scan it. This mouse can save your files in several file formats such as JPEG, TIFF, PNG, BMP, XLS, DOC and PDF, and it can easily upload your scanned documents to Facebook, Twitter, Flickr or email. In addition, LG's Optical Character Recognition technology can turn scanned text into editable Microsoft Word or Excel files. Brookstone Scanner Mouse can scan documents and images up 16.5″ x 11.7″ in size at high-resolution 320 dpi, which should be enough for average users.

Archos FamilyPad: 13.3-inch tablet Android tablet

Recently we have covered Archos 80 Cobalt, and today we have another tablet from Archos, so let's have a closer look at it.



Archos FamilyPad is a 13.3-inch tablet, and it comes with 1,280×800 HD display and 10x multitouch support. As for the hardware, this tablet uses 1GHz ARM Cortex A8 processor, 8GB flash memory, but there's also microSD card slot for expansion, 2-megapixel front and back camera, and a HDMI output. As for software, Archos FamilyPad uses Ice Cream Sandwich, and according to the manufacturer, it offers a "variety of email accounts for each family member". In addition, this tablet comes with digital board games in which whole family can enjoy.

Archos FamilyPad is a decent tablet designed for the whole family, and it should be available in the UK in December, while the US residents will have to wait a bit more for it. As for the price, Archos FamilyPad should be priced at £274.99 ($438).
