Fifth generation of iPod Touch announced

If you're excited about iPhone 5 announcement, you'll be pleased to know that Apple has also announced new version of its iPod Touch, so let's see what does the fifth generation of iPod Touch has to offer.


New iPod Touch is the thinnest model so far, and it comes with ultra-thin and light anodized aluminum body that is just 6mm thin. New iPod comes with 4-inch Retina touchscreen that supports 1136×640 and 326ppi resolution, and new iPod also has support for dual-band WiFi 802.11n.

iPod Touch is powered by Apple's dual-core A5 processor that should provide you with twice the processing power and improve your graphical performance up to seven times.

This device also features 5 Megapixel iSight camera with auto focus, and it supports 1080p Full HD video recording with video image stabilization, face detection and an LED flash. Front-facing 1.2 Megapixel FaceTime 720p HD camera is present as well, and it supports video recording. As for software, new iPod Touch is using iOS 6, Siri, and services such as iCloud, iMessage, Face Time and AirPlay Mirroring are also available.

Also, new iPod Touch comes with Bluetooth 4.0 and Nike+ support.

New iPod Touch comes in pink, yellow, blue, white/silver, black/slate, and just like iPhone 5 it will use Lightning connector. As for the price, new iPod Touch 32GB model costs $299, and 64GB model is priced at $399.

Video: Hands on new iPhone 5 and iOS 6

Apple releases Lightning to 30-pin Adapter and Lightning to USB Cable

You know that iPhone 5 has been announced, and that iPhone 5 will run on iOS 6, but new iPhone will feature a new type of connector, so let's have a closer look at it.



Apple has introduced its new connector called Lightning, and it should replace the old 30-pin connector. According to the reports, the new connector is smarter and more durable than its predecessor, and it is all-digital and features an adaptive interface that utilizes signals that each accessory requires, and on top of that, it's reversible, so there's no wrong way to plug it in.

New Lightning connector is present on Phone 5, iPod touch 5th gen and iPod nano 7th gen. In addition, Apple has released Lightning to 30-pin Adapter, so you can easily connect your 30-pin accessories with iPhone 5, but you should know that this adapter doesn't support video and iPod out. Also there's a Lightning to USB Cable available as well, if you need an extra charging cable.

New connector is an improvement from the previous one, and as for the Lightning to 30-pin Adapter and Lightning to USB Cable, they are priced at $29.00 and $19.00, respectively.

iOS 6: Release date set for September 19th

You probably know that Apple has announced iPhone 5, and the new iPhone runs on iOS 6, and speaking of which, let's see what new features does iOS 6 have to offer.



The new Maps application comes with zooming capabilities and a search engine that will allow you to check out more than 100 million points of interest. In addition, Maps app uses 3D buildings and smooth transitions during navigation so it won't interrupt voice directions. Safari comes with full-screen mode and you'll be also able to share your tabs from desktop browser to your smartphone thanks to the iOS 6 and iCloud Tabs. Email has a VIP list, so each time when you receive an email from a person on your VIP list that email will go to the separate email box. Passbook feature is present as well, and so far, Delta and Starwood Hotels are supporting it, and we should see more business supporting Passbook in the future. Photo Stream is updated and it will allow you to share your photos simpler and faster than before. Siri has been improved as well, and you can now post Facebook statuses simply by speaking them.

iOS 6 has a lot to offer, and as for release we should see it on September 19th, however we don't have information regarding compatible devices.
