Latest news: Apple announces iPhone 5 Posted: 13 Sep 2012 03:25 AM PDT Apple has just introduced its latest iPhone, and according to the reports, this should be world's slimmest smartphone that measures only 7.6mm thick.
iPhone 5 is using A6 chip that doubles the CPU and graphics performance, and it also supports LTE and DC-HSDPA high-speed mobile data network, dual-band 802.11n WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS/AGPS and GLONASS. New iPhone uses 8 Megapixel iSight camera that supports Full HD video recording and panorama images of up to 28 Megapixel. Additional camera features include improved stabilization, video face detection and ability to take still photos during video recording. There's also a new FaceTime HD front camera for FaceTime video calls, and you'll be happy to hear that this camera supports 720p video recording. Apple has also replaced the old 30-pin connector with new smaller Lightning connector. Great thing about the Lightning connector is that it is reversible, so you can easily attach it to any device. As for compatibility, Apple will also release Lightning-to-30-pin adapter so you can connect your accessories to iPhone 5 with ease. As for software, iPhone 5 comes equipped with new iOS 6 that comes with several new features. iPhone 5 comes in white/silver or black/slate, and it will be shipped on 21 September in US, Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore and the UK. As for the pricing, there will be several models available: 16GB at $199, 21GB at $299 and 64GB at $399. Pre-order starts on September 14th.
