Sony Xperia Tablet Z: World’s thinnest and lightest Android tablet

Sony Mobile has given us all sorts of great devices, and speaking of which, Sony Mobile has decided to expand its line of tablets in Japan.


Xperia Tablet Z is just 6.9mm thick, and it measures 495 grams, therefore, it's the world's lightest and thinnest Android tablet, and it's even thinner than iPad mini. This tablet comes with 10.1-inch 1920×1200 Full HD Reality Display with Mobile Bravia Engine 2, along with 8.1 Megapixel camera with Exmor R sensor.

Additional specs include quad-core Qualcomm APQ8064 1.5GHz processor and 2GB of RAM, as well as NFC and LTE 4G connectivity, Bluetooth and WiFi. As for the storage space, Sony's Tablet Z comes with 32GB of internal storage and supports microSD cards for expansion. We also have to mention that this tablet is waterproof and dustproof, and as for the software, it runs on Android 4.1 with Sony's custom UI.

Xperia Tablet Z sounds impressive, and Sony plans to release this tablet in Japan this spring, however, price and international availability remains a mystery.
